Discos and Bars of Cha-Am
Nightlife in Cha-Am is rather restrained. It is not a city for big parties and you will not hear beat music 24 hours a day. It is just a small, natural city in Thailand where people enjoy making party – but only in moderation.
Along the main road at the ocean (Ruamjit-Beach Road) there are many nice restaurants and bars with comfortable furnishing and low cost prices. One beer for example costs less than 2 Euro in a restaurant or bar. Some of the restaurants have nice live music.
Right on the main road at the beach is the 20-story Hotel Golden Beach.
In front of the Golden Beach some quite and nice pubs are located. The owners and guests are very friendly, natural and not intrusive. As a special service the owner Om has cigars for sale, which are rare to find in Thailand. In Robinson Crusoe Bar you can enjoy the evening in a cozy atmosphere and an evening chill beer.
Well-known is the so called Bus-Soi in Cha-Am. This is the street where the bus to Bangkok stops. Here you will find bars from all over the world one next to the other. Almost all the bars are run by foreigners. Here you can hear everything – from pleasant up to obstructive music, just as you prefer it. You can also play pool billard in most of the bars.
There is almost no prostitution or any prostitutes for that matter in Cha-An. Also you will not find a red light district.
There are a couple of bars, though, where some of the employed ladies will make distinct offers.
Also gay bars you will not find in Cha-Am. There are some beautiful lady boys in some bars but no direct prostitution in this city. So you can also walk with your children in the evening times to all the streets of Cha-Am.
In Cha-Am are two big discos where you can make party at the weekend. In the weeks there are only a few people but at weekend there is always a Thai Rock band playing live musik and the disco is full of mostly Thai people.
