| The central position of Cha-Am allows you trips to many destinations, which are not too far away . Since the roads in Thailand have European quality you can drive with the car fast to targets that are more than 100 kilometers away. |
Directly in the area of Cha-Am you will find the Forest Park Khao Nang Phanthurat. It is a beautifully landscaped park with a small lake and an island. The park is beautiful and you can see many animals, but mainly in the early morning hours .
On the way to Hua Hin, after about 20 kilometers, you can find on the left side of the beautiful teak palace Phra Ratchaniwet Maruek Thayawan, where at the beginning of the last century, Rama VI had his summer palace. Some parts of the palace are still standing free for the royal family. The palace is situated in a military base, but it is without problems to walk in when you say the soldiers at the gate that you would like to visit the palace.

The city of Phetchaburi is located about 40 kilometers north of Cha-Am, direction Bangkok. This ancient town has many old Temples, which are worth to visit. Phetchaburi is over 1000 years old and was in the 11th Century a religious center of the Khmer, so you'll find many ancient ruins as witnesses of the history of Phetchaburi.
