The paths in the park are well asphalted, so you can visit the park by your own car or motorbike.


A larg about two meter long lizard is crossing the road. Lizards brings generally good luck in Thailand. Only a lizard in the house or at a wedding brings bad luck!


In Forest Park was built an island which is surrounded by a lake. Here the vegetation is particularly lush. Many animals come to the lake to drink. So if you spend some time here, you can watch many animals and enjoy the pure nature!

Many white lotus flowers float on the lake. The lake is the central point of the park with asphalted paths. So you can easily make a nice walk around the lake and enjoy the fresh air, the animals and all the colourful flowers.

In addition to exotic animals, some farmers let their cows graze in the small forest park from Cha-Am, because there the grass is the freshest.


There are very many birds nest in some trees, because here the birds like to live together in colonies. If you turn from the asphalted path in the jungle, the nature changes a little.


The further you moves away from the lake, the drier the environment gets.

Although the path is a bit troublesome, as the paved road on the lake, but if you make a side trip into the forest, you will notice that the forest is growing wild on. Fallen trees are not chopped down and all kinds of plants are located and grow here. Here is the perfect paradise for rare birds. Also the almost died out Great White Egret, which is indeed quite shy, but often to found in the forest park of Cha-Am. Previously, the Great White Egret was often found in Europe but now he is almost died out. Because between Cha-Am and to Hua Hin are build so many houses and resorts, too many pieces of forest are being cleared and burned. Only to create new land for building new houses. The living space for exotic animals, although in the surroundings of Cha-Am is still very big, but it decreases day by day. This forest park is a haven for of all kinds of exotic animals.

A blue bird hops over the leaves from the forest floor looking for insects and worms.


But addition to the beautiful and colorful animals, there are many creepy crawlies to find. Here is a construction by termites, which stands in the middle of the road.
Termites and ants are the police of the forest and clear the forest by eating dead animals, or gnaw off dead wood.

When you walk through the forest, take care in every step you take and of every branch. Although snakes are rarely seen, but the large red forest ants build their nests in trees and bushes. Once accidentally touched such a nest means that you have many aggressive on your body!


The ant nest are usually not easy to identify. They are made out of several leaves stuck together. Usually there are only a couple of guards outside the ant nest.


Here is just build built a great artistic nest of red ants in the Bauhaus architect style. A leaf is bent and the top and bottom of an other leaf is glued. It looks like a flat roof bungalow for ants!


They are a miracle of nature: The red ants. Due to their armor, they are difficult to wound and what their strong jaws have packed only once, they do not release it quickly.


Ant eggs are in Thailand as an expensive delicacy. You see some Thais in the forest park of Cha-Am with long sticks on which a net is fixed. So they harvest the ants nest that hang high in the trees.
100 grams of ant eggs cost about 2.50 €.


At the exit of the Park is a Restraurant with adjacent playground for children. Here you can relax after the long walk comfortably on a soft drink and a Thai specialty, such as a Khao Pat Gai ( Fried rice with vegetables and chicken).
